Rooms were very comfortable and we would return but.......
The bar prices inflated the cost of the stay to the point of ridicule. Great location if you are teetotal.
Great food and drink and a very comfortable stay. Nice modern rooms yet a traditional feel to the whole place. Lovely surrounding areas, pubs, woods, walks, etc.
Close to a road. Loud cars in the morning can be quite irritating
Food was amazing, and staying in a 15th c building was cool.
Scraped my head on the low doors- but they are marked!
A bit tucked away in the countryside, this hotel is worth finding for their fantastic food and exquisite wines. Cheerful and adequate personnel will make sure your appetite is not disappointed. Beware of your head when staying in room Nr1: (very) low doors after a nice bottle.
I loved the pleasentness of the staff and the location, and its facilities. A truely new experience.
The only disagreement was the fact that the menu was of little variety, and the location being a mile outside the village of Great Missenden.
The staff was excellent.....they would remember little things that you liked and then spoil you. It seemed like anything you asked for they would give you if at all possible. The food was the best I have tasted in England so far (we are here for 5 weeks).
If anything, they are situated on a road where you could hear the cars going to work in the morning.
You were able to accommodate my 2am arrival. Good breakfast, nice room
Couldnt see the numbers on the entrance keypad in the dark You left a note saying breakfast was until 10-30 I arrived at breakfast 10-04 to be told that a cooked breakfast was only available until 10 Then with a pleasant smile was told that they would make breakfast for us If I had no breakfast I would have been quite grumpy! Will stay with you again
This 15th Century Pub was beautifully decorated with modern furnishings and fixtures in the room, but kept its old world charm. Very clean, neat and tidy. Staff were attentive and efficient. The food was delicious and came out quickly. Lovely selection of wines. Very romantic spot.
The very low door ways and ceilings - my husband knocked his head twice nearly knocking himself out! That said, it is also part of the charm. Just mind your head!
This is a fabulous hotel where everybody is very professional but you are made to feel like you are at home.
Modern facilities yet in keeping with the character of the building.
Staff very friendly Fod & beer very good Lovely scenery
Bed was very comfortable and staff was pleasant. Hotel easy to find on main road.
Alarm clock on night table was unplugged. After plugging it in, I discovered it was not working properly. The switch on one of the 2 night table lamps appeared to b broken. My room was situated above the pub which was very noisy until 10 pm on the weeknight I was there. Since my room faced the main road it was also very noisy probably more so because it was a weekday. However it was quieter late at night and I slept very well.
Lovely country pub with fantastic food, a modern age Gastro pub with a beautiful open fireplace. Room was recently decorated with a great shower. Full of character with exposed beams throughout the pub/rooms.
We had room 1 & on our first night we went to bed early, but struggled to sleep with the noise from the restaurant travelling through the thin floor.
Rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable
I thought the evening food was very expensive for what it was. It tasted nice and was served quickly - but it was over priced Generator was outside of the bedroom window - so noisy until this was tunred off at 10.30 pm Noise of the restaurant made it sound like there were people eating in my bath room - ok on a normal day - but I needed sleep!
